OVERVIEW
The Nigeria Diaspora Doctors Association (NDDA) was established in July 2023 by Dr. Abuabakar Muhammad Sani and Dr. Aminu Salisu Indabawa, two visionary leaders with a commitment to fostering collaboration among Nigerian doctors living and working abroad. Recognizing the potential impact of a united diaspora medical community, they took the initiative to formally organize and register the association as incorporated trustees in Nigeria.
Dr. Abuabakar Muhammad Sani assumed the role of Chairman, bringing his leadership skills and dedication to the forefront, while Dr. Aminu Salisu Indabawa became the General Secretary, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and communication within the association.
FIRST ELECTIONS
A significant milestone in the early days of the NDDA was the election of its executive members on October 1, 2023. This election marked a crucial step in shaping the leadership that would guide the association’s mission and activities. The newly elected executive members were:
- Dr. Aminu Salisu Indabawa as President
- Dr. Paul Adeoluwa Adegbosin as Vice President (Residents Matters)
- Dr. Salihu Mohammed Lawal as Vice President (IMG Matters)
- Dr. Yusrah Mukhtar as Public Secretary
- Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Sani as Financial Secretary
- Dr. Samson Dayo Asaje as Research Secretary
JOURNEY SO FAR
Under the leadership of President Dr. Aminu Salisu Indabawa and the dedicated team of executive members, the NDDA embarked on a journey to fulfill its objectives. The association aimed to enhance professional development, foster scientific exchange, contribute to public health initiatives, and advocate for policies that would benefit the healthcare system in Nigeria.
With its commitment to excellence and unity, the NDDA became a platform for Nigerian diaspora doctors to collaborate, share knowledge, and contribute to the advancement of healthcare both abroad and in Nigeria.
